Vocology Certificate

With her Vocology Certificate, Ruth is able to teach voice building techniques to students of all ages She is focused on the functionality of the voice and is committed to teaching each student healthy vocal technique as well as artistry. As a teacher, Ruth is committed to the each student as an individual as well as an artist.

What is Vocology ?

Vocology is the science and practice of voice habilitation, and if necessary, rehabilitation. As a Vocologist, one leads with habilitation so as to stop vocal problems before they occur.

At Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, the Vocology Certificate focuses on the union of voice science and practical application, both with healthy voice and injured voice. 

Ruth has learned about the anatomy of the larynx, phonation, sound, teaching techniques, vocal repertoire, and much more through this process.
