Biography

Ruth Peart, soprano, is a native of London, Ohio and holds a B.M. of Vocal Performance from Ohio State University, a M.M. from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music as well as a Vocology Certificate.

With her Vocology Certificate, Ruth strives to teach students in a welcoming environment. She is focused on the functionality of the voice and is committed to teaching each student healthy vocal technique as well as artistry. As a teacher, Ruth is committed to the each student as an individual as well as an artist and is dedicated to fostering a safe and fun environment for vocal health, technique, and performance abilities for her students.

Ruth is an active performer on stage and in choral settings. She has performed with the Columbus Children's Choir, New World Singers touring Spain, Austria, and Hungary. She is an active performer in university choral organizations as well as the Bloomington First United Methodist Church choir. Previous roles include Elizabeth Brigmann (Sweets by Kate), Moth Fairy (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Prisoner’s Chorus in Anne Frank (Ran), Sophie Sheridan (Mamma Mia), Julia Sullivan (The Wedding Singer), and many more. Notably, Ruth won third place in the Women in Music in Columbus Memorial Scholarship Competition for advanced musical study, was a recipient of the Margaret Speaks Vocal Scholarship from Ohio State, and the artistic excellence scholarship from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music.
